slowly, methodically, ideologically.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1889\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Earlier and earlier guidance... and increasingly biased guidance<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1890\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Today, children are asked to <strong>12 or 13 years old<\/strong> to \u00abchoose their future\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1891\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">In reality, it's not the children who choose - it's the parents who choose. <strong>parents<\/strong>, under social pressure.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1892\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The gym has become a status marker.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1893\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Apprenticeships: the default route.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1894\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The manual profession, an admission of failure.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1895\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">In the past, orientation was based on <strong>objective criteria<\/strong> academic results, aptitudes, real potential.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1896\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">There was no shame in not going on to higher education, because manual jobs offered an opportunity to learn a trade. <strong>concrete future<\/strong>, A clear motivation and social recognition.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1897\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Today, we refuse to make a decision.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1898\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">We no longer want to frustrate.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1899\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">We don't want to upset anyone.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1900\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">But a society that refuses to establish hierarchies produces\u2019<strong>Delayed failure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1901\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">The great academic illusion<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1902\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">But the figures are clear.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1903\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Switzerland has one of the <strong>the lowest youth unemployment rate in Europe (around 6-7 %)<\/strong>, This is precisely because of its dual training system.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1904\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Conversely, countries that have sacrificed apprenticeships - France, Spain and Italy - are fluctuating between <strong>15 and 25 %<\/strong> youth unemployment.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1905\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">And yet, we are repeating the same scenario:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>diploma inflation,<\/li>\n<li>socialising\u00ab university courses with no real prospects,<\/li>\n<li>overqualified graduates... but underemployed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1907\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">We produce cohorts of brilliant young people on paper,<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1908\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">but <strong>disconnected from real work<\/strong>, Dependent, insecure, still living with their parents at the age of 25 - with no independence, no capital, no job.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1909\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">The great contempt for manual jobs<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1910\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">A well-practised manual trade allows :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>economic independence,<\/li>\n<li>business creation,<\/li>\n<li>the transmission of knowledge,<\/li>\n<li>strong resilience to crises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1912\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Conversely, how many tertiary professions will be <strong>crushed or profoundly reconfigured by AI<\/strong> in the next ten years?<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1913\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">And yet, the dominant message remains absurd:<\/p>\n<blockquote id=\"ember1914\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__blockquote\"><p>\u00abBecome a lawyer, a computer scientist, a consultant... or you're nothing.\u00bb<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p id=\"ember1915\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">That's not true.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1916\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It's dangerous.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1917\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It's anti-social.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1918\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">A good craftsman can become independent.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1919\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">A tertiary employee without concrete skills becomes interchangeable.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1920\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Companies are dropping out - and we refuse to see why<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1921\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">We often blame the bosses.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1922\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The reality is more uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1923\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Yes, there are abuses. Just like everywhere else.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1924\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">But they are <strong>minority<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1925\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">On the other hand :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>administrative constraints are exploding,<\/li>\n<li>the judicialization of the employment relationship is progressing,<\/li>\n<li>the relationship with authority is delegitimised from school onwards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1927\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Many craftsmen have <strong>more like<\/strong> to take on apprentices :<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1928\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Repeated lateness, absenteeism because of a cold, refusal to make an effort, permanent victim attitude.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1929\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Put yourself in the shoes of a self-employed person who is fighting for the survival of his business, which he built with his own strength.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1930\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Training an apprentice has become a <strong>risk<\/strong>, plus an investment.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1931\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">The real blind spot: parental responsibility<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1932\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It's a subject no one dares broach.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1933\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">But the truth is simple:<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1934\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u2b95 <strong>The devaluation of learning begins at home.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1935\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It's the parents who pass it on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>respect,<\/li>\n<li>the value of the effort,<\/li>\n<li>understanding money,<\/li>\n<li>courage,<\/li>\n<li>the idea that not everything falls from the sky.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1937\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Preparing your children for the future does not mean planning for them <strong>yesterday's world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1938\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It means arming them for <strong>the real world that awaits them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1939\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Apprenticeship is not a dead end - it's a springboard<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1940\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">We need to deconstruct a central lie:<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1941\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u2b95 <strong>apprenticeship doesn't lock you in. It opens up.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1942\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The Swiss model is based on <strong>gateways unique in Europe<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CFC \u2192 professional maturity,<\/li>\n<li>maturit\u00e9 pro \u2192 HES,<\/li>\n<li>maturit\u00e9 pro or gymnasium \u2192 university,<\/li>\n<li>further training, diplomas, master's degrees, specialisations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1944\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Apprenticeships enable :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>learn a real trade,<\/li>\n<li>to become autonomous,<\/li>\n<li>then to broaden his academic horizons - by choice, not by default.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"ember1946\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Nicolas Kolly embodies this model<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1947\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">His question to the Federal Council is not ideological.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1948\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It is <strong>biographical<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1949\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Born into a family of Fribourg farmers, Nicolas Kolly :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>repeats primary school,<\/li>\n<li>chooses an apprenticeship in <strong>agricultural machinery mechanic<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>obtains its <strong>CFC at 19<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>serves two years at <strong>Pontifical Swiss Guard<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>then resumed his studies:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1951\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Today, he is :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>lawyer,<\/li>\n<li>Army officer (captain),<\/li>\n<li>former military examining magistrate,<\/li>\n<li>National Councillor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1953\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u2b95 <strong>That's what learning is all about.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1954\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">EU and standardisation: the silent danger<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1955\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The Swiss dual training model is a <strong>European exception<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1956\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It is based on subsidiarity, proximity to businesses and cantonal autonomy.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1957\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Joining the European Union automatically means :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>standardise,<\/li>\n<li>academicise,<\/li>\n<li>centralise,<\/li>\n<li>bureaucratisation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"ember1959\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u2b95 <strong>Apprenticeships in Switzerland can be reformed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1960\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">\u2b95 <strong>It cannot be saved in Brussels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1961\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1962\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The political courage of <strong>Nicolas Kolly<\/strong> is to be commended.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1963\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">He speaks not as an ideologue, but as a man who <strong>has been there<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1964\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">The downgrading of apprenticeships is not inevitable.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1965\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It's a cultural and ideological construct.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1966\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">And what has been built can be undone.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1967\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\"><strong>But on one condition:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1968\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">stop flattering,<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1969\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">stop feeling guilty,<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1970\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">stop lying to our young people.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1971\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Apprenticeships are not a plan B.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1972\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">It is a <strong>springboard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1973\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">A base.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"ember1974\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__heading-3\">A Swiss path to excellence.<\/h3>\n<p id=\"ember1975\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">And there's still time to defend it.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ember1976\" class=\"ember-view reader-text-block__paragraph\">Your opinion is essential for a lucid debate based on reality and the interests of young people. <strong>Is the downgrading of apprenticeships, especially in French-speaking Switzerland, linked to the free movement of people?
