You don't destroy Swiss neutrality with a vote. It is emptied from within.<\/em>
\nIn the space of a few weeks, under the guise of a \u201cgrowing threat\u201d, Martin Pfister - a complete stranger to the general public before his appointment - is in the process of making a historic shift: sliding the Swiss army into the orbit of the EU and NATO, without a popular debate, without a constitutional mandate, without strategic courage. What is at stake is not a technical reform. It is a regime change.<\/em><\/p>\n

You can't destroy Swiss neutrality with a vote.<\/p>\n

It is empty from the inside<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Under the guise of a \u00abgrowing threat\u00bb, Martin Pfister - a complete unknown to the general public before his appointment - is orchestrating an historic shift: bringing the Swiss army into the orbit of the EU and NATO, without a popular mandate, without democratic debate, without constitutional legitimacy<\/strong>. What is at stake here is not a technical reform. It is a security regime change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

An insignificant former State Councillor in Zug, Pfister has neither the strategic scope nor the historical stature that the position demands. He was located<\/strong> at the very moment when Euro-integrationist circles are seeking to weaken Swiss neutrality to make it more \u00abcompatible\u00bb with Brussels and NATO.<\/p>\n

His speech is revealing:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00abSwitzerland is part of Europe\u00bb, increased cooperation with the EU, interoperability with NATO, the Russian threat brandished like a totem.<\/p>\n

This is a political betrayal of the spirit - and soon the letter - of the Constitution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2b95 Art. 2 Cst.<\/strong> independence and neutrality.<\/p>\n

\u2b95 Art. 173 and 185<\/strong> National defence under Swiss sovereignty.<\/p>\n

\u2b95 Federal oath<\/strong> Loyalty to the Constitution, not to the military blocs.<\/p>\n

Even worse: Pfister is artificially organising the shortage of material and equipment in our army<\/strong>. Under-investment, postponements, reduced purchases, deliberately weakened capacities - then, in a second phase, the conclusion presented as \u201cinevitable\u201d : we can no longer defend ourselves alone, we need to cooperate<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This is a fait accompli strategy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But Switzerland has already proved the exact opposite.<\/p>\n

During the Cold War, no NATO, no EU, no alignment<\/strong>, our country has built a defence autonomous, credible and dissuasive<\/strong>. At that time, the Swiss army comprised 800,000 men<\/strong> - one of the most powerful forces in Europe, along with the United Kingdom. And no enemy has ever dared to test our resolve.<\/p>\n

If the threat is really as serious as Pfister claims, then he should start by act seriously<\/strong>, instead of manoeuvring ideologically:<\/p>\n

- Buy now 70 F-35<\/strong>, as recommended by Claude Nicollier - not a cut-price fleet.<\/p>\n

- Wear the defence budget at 2 % of GDP<\/strong> (compared with ~0.7 % today).<\/p>\n

- Reconstruct a credible militia army<\/strong>, \u00e0 At least 400,000 men<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Switzerland's security cannot be delegated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

She built<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If you want peace, prepare for war.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

Martin Pfister is not the man for the Swiss defence.<\/p>\n

It is the a vehicle for dangerous ideological alignment<\/strong>, imposed without a popular mandate.<\/p>\n

Neutrality is not a diplomatic option.<\/p>\n

It is a constitutional pillar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And a pillar that you stop defending always ends up collapsing.<\/p>\n
