When those who claim to defend the economy of French-speaking Switzerland start talking like Brussels' mouthpieces, it becomes urgent to set the record straight.<\/b> By supporting the \u00abnew agreements\u00bb with the European Union, the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Entreprises Romandes is not defending SMEs or Swiss prosperity. legal guardianship<\/b> renamed \u201cstrategic opportunity\u201d. This is not an economic analysis - it is a political renunciation. When a once-respected lobby echoes the EU's talking points word for word, it doesn't reveal a vision: it reveals a intellectual capitulation<\/b>, It's a clear choice to forget what made Switzerland strong in the first place, and what still determines its freedom today.<\/em><\/p>\n

There are positions that are mistakes, others that are blind - and there are some, more rare, that are the result of conceptual betrayal<\/strong>. The recent declaration by the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Entreprises Romandes (FER) in favour of the \u00abnew agreements\u00bb with the European Union unambiguously falls into the latter category.<\/p>\n

The FER has not simply defended a questionable economic strategy: it has taken up point after point the language of Brussels<\/strong>, It goes against the fundamental interests of Switzerland, its sovereignty and its direct democracy.<\/p>\n

And it has to be said clearly: these agreements are neither bilateral, balanced nor negotiated<\/strong>. These are Unilateral Agreements III<\/strong>, In other words, the adoption of European law without a seat, without a vote, without a veto - with compensatory measures in the event of refusal.<\/p>\n

The FER knows this. Yet it persists.<\/p>\n

1. The \u201cbilateral\u201d lie\u201d<\/h3>\n

In its communication, the ERF speaks of \u2019deepening the bilateral path\u00ab, \u00bbeconomic continuity\u00ab and \u00bbregulatory stability necessary for employment\u00ab.<\/p>\n

It's a clever, reassuring lexicon, calibrated to erase the essential: the actual content of the texts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Because the proposed treaties establish a asymmetrical legal integration<\/strong>, Switzerland would be forced to adopt - automatically or almost automatically - whole swathes of European law. Parliament would have only a right of veto under blackmail<\/strong>, under threat of sanctions.<\/p>\n

To call it \u00abbilateral\u00bb is to rename a leash a \u00abclimbing rope\u00bb.<\/p>\n

2. The fiction of \u201cguaranteed\u201d prosperity\u201d<\/h3>\n

The FER insists that these agreements are necessary to \u00abguarantee market access\u00bb.<\/p>\n
