The Socialist Party's latest \u00abclear-out\u00bb is a textbook case of fearmongering. Faced with the \u00abNo Swiss at 10 Million\u00bb initiative, the party leadership is no longer responding with social arguments, but with apocalyptic slogans. By brandishing the spectre of \u00abchaos\u00bb, \u00abTrump\u00bb, and the \u00abend of hospitals\u00bb, the SP is attempting to conceal an inconvenient truth: it has broken the historic contract that bound it to the Swiss working classes.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n

1. The scarecrow strategy: fleeing substantiated debate<\/h3>\n

The Socialist Party no longer talks about quality of life, the soaring cost of rents, or the saturation of infrastructure. No, it practices reductio ad Trumpum<\/strong>. To compare a Swiss citizens\u00ab initiative with American politics is an insult to the intelligence of voters. It is a crude marketing ploy designed to discredit any reflection on immigration regulation by placing it in the camp of \u00bbevil'.<\/p>\n

2. The denial of reality: Rudolf Strahm's warning<\/h3>\n

The most stinging repudiation comes not from the right, but from the very heart of the social-democratic left. Rudolf Strahm<\/strong>, a historical figure, former price regulator and economic conscience of the PS, offers a damning diagnosis:<\/p>\n
