The warning issued by Mario Irminger in the columns of <\/span>Glare<\/em> It has the merit of frankness, but it sounds like an admission of industrial and ethical failure. By brandishing the spectre of shortage to castigate the \u00abNo Swiss to 10 million\u00bb initiative, the boss of Migros is not defending the purchasing power or the well-being of the Swiss people: he is defending a gluttonous economic model that only survives through demographic escapism.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n

Here are the arguments showing that the orange giant is fighting the wrong battle \u2013 and in the wrong century.<\/p>\n

1. The \u00abalways more\u00bb consumer strategy<\/h3>\n

For Migros, immigration is not just a question of labour at Micarna; it is above all an inexhaustible source of new till receipts. By refusing to stabilise the population, the group ensures a perpetually growing market, regardless of the price paid by the country's infrastructure. Migros no longer seeks to satisfy the Swiss, it seeks to fill its shelves with new customers, wherever they come from, to mask its own stagnation.<\/p>\n

2. Denying quality: the overdose of additives<\/h3>\n

Before worrying about who will cut the meat tomorrow, Mario Irminger would do well to look at what he's putting into it. For decades, Migros products have been saturated with\u2019\u00abE\u00bb additives\u00bb<\/strong> and preservatives. While increasingly discerning Swiss consumers are looking for raw and healthy products, Migros continues to favour ultra-processing. This is where the real \u00abloss of performance\u00bb lies: on the plate.<\/p>\n

3. Food sovereignty sold off for the benefit of the Atlantic<\/h3>\n

The discourse on \u00abforeign dependence\u00bb is rarely hypocritical when you analyse the group's sourcing. Why bring in legumes, cereals and starches<\/strong> from the United States or Canada when Europe \u2014 and Switzerland \u2014 could be favoured?<\/p>\n
